Great leaps

I've been listening to the wonderful Tago Mago by CAN this morning and it really is amazing just how modern it sounds for an album released in 1971. 

Take the below track Mushroom for example. This song released just 13 years after Chuck Berry dropped Johnny B Goode...

There was obviously huge change in the world of music across the 1960s and 1970s, but I still find it hard to believe that Mushroom is a song from 1971.

I highly recommend listening to the whole album, as it is a masterpiece even when divorced from its release date and innovation, but if you don't have a spare 73 minutes, then at least check out the eighteen and a half minute epic Halleluwah below.
